CNRES 531 Core Conflict Resolution
Each person has different values, morals, and ethics. Each professional has different rules set in place for what is allowed or not allowed. This means that people must mold into what is necessary to do the job well and professionally. Professional ethics are necessary to make a place run smoothly and employees do their job well.

Our values, morals, and ethics make up the person that we become and the way that we represent our self to our society.
Reflection
Professional ethics is something you will see in any profession because it is necessary no matter what you do. There are too many things that can go wrong if we don't maintain an appropriate environment as professionals. This content area is really important for any individual going into a profession that involves helping people. A lot of jobs in the helping profession deal with helping people that have been abused, mistreated or neglected emotionally and coming in with those ethics, values and morals that are understanding can be really crucial.

When I was still an education major I observed and taught in about 5 different schools. It was critical that I did not discuss any of the students with others in a public setting because that could look very poorly on me, and the school. Confidentiality is very important, and crucial in many helping professions, and it is very important to set clear boundaries.

In my future career it will probably still be very important for me to keep information in confidence. If I happen to do case work in foster care I will need to keep that information confidential. If I work in a school, or university I will need to keep information on my students confidential. Another big thing is also working for a company that has the same values and morals as I do.
