Internal Dynamics of Families
An understanding of family strengths and weaknesses and how family members relate to each other
Studying the dynamics of families is crucial in understanding how families work in and outside of the home.Internal Dynamics of Families allows us to look inside the family and how the individuals within that family interact with one another. The dynamics within our families make each family different from one another. Yet there are factors that are common within each family system that make us similar, like symbolic interactions, attachment, boundaries, roles, rules, interpersonal relationships, and communication.

The theory that I feel closely relates to this content area is the Family Systems Theory. This theory is a theory of human behavior that views the family as an emotional unit, and uses systems thinking to describe the complex interactions in the unit. Basically if one member of the family is failing, then the entire family will be affected by that.
